For more than twenty years, I have worked with students and families who don’t fit the mold. The kids with ADHD or dyslexia who keep getting told to try harder, when what they actually need is someone who understands how their brain works. The families exhausted by the daily fight over screens and homework.
I am the author of six books, including Schindler’s Gift (the story of how ADHD traits saved 1,200 lives during the Holocaust), Cyber Junkie, Movers, Dreamers, and Risk-Takers, and Get Off That Game Now. My memoir My First Hundred Jobs publishes this year. My latest, The Effort Crisis, takes on what AI is doing to how kids learn and what families can do about it.
I have appeared on ABC’s 20/20 and BBC Radio, and I have spoken around the world about ADHD and the gifts that come with it.
